A Sunday Stroll

Daddy trying out the Baby Bjorn for the first time

Mommy & me on the slide

I love being outside! So much to see!

This is how the walk ended...:)

We took Grace for her first walk in the Baby Bjorn last Sunday and it was such a beautiful day to be outside! Her fair skin coloring made me want to put sunscreen on her so she won't burn like her daddy and mommy do but I'm pretty sure a 3 mth old doesn't need sunscreen! Maybe she could have used some sunglasses though! ha! We walked to the church near our home that has a really nice playground and enjoyed the slide and swings...briefly. This time next year I'm pretty sure she'll be running the whole way to the park!

Grace and Dorothy Mefford

Wow...where have 2 months gone?? I can't believe that Grace is already 10 weeks old but she is 11 lbs 12 oz now and 23 inches long! She still has strawberry blonde hair and her cheeks are getting more chubby by the day! :) I have loved being home with her so much and have to go back to work on Fri, Nov. 13th...so pray for me that I make it all day without a meltdown! ha! I'm sure Grace will be fine. We have had such fun the past few weeks including Grace's first road trip to Memphis to meet her friend Dorothy, the birth of her cousin, Georgia Anne Burden on Oct. 12th, and a visit with her "birthday buddy" Martin. They were both on the same day and will be staying with the same sitter when I return to work so I guess they have no choice but to be friends! :) Grace spends a lot of time in our arms and sleeping on her daddy's chest, but her next favorite place to be is in her lamb swing. She LOVES to watch the lambs spin above her head and she smiles and makes cooing noises and it is so sweet to watch. She is sleeping 7-8 hours a night in her big girl crib and that makes mommy & daddy very happy! We love her and are so blessed to be her parents.

God's Grace

Such a sweet gift

Grace Catherine Godthaab

Well...I can't believe I'm sitting here writing about being a mom! Grace Catherine was born at 7:56 pm on Thursday, August 20th at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, KY. We awoke that morning not really knowing we were going to be parents that day. I had my 39 week dr's appt at 8:30 and was super sick that am so we were an hour late...only to discover I was 5-6 cm dilated and my dr thought I was ready to be admitted. If you had a difficult labor/delivery process don't read this part...:)....I can't even believe how easlily the next 8 or so hours went. I felt not one bit of pain from the check-in through the birth and my recovery. I never had labor pains or contractions that were painful and got my epidural and was good to go from then on out. Grace arrived and I thought "I can't believe I just gave birth to her and it was that easy!" That was a gift from God for sure because if you know me well you know my pain tolerance is not super high! :) We are home now and adjusting to being a family of 3. We chose her name because we liked it and it sounded good with Godthaab...but more importantly because it will always be a reminder to us of the precious gift our Savior has given us by dying on the cross for our sin and giving us the gift of "grace" every day. It is an undeserved gift, much like this beautiful blessing He has given us in our daughter! We love her dearly and are so thankful for our healthy baby girl!
